She has been obsessed with shoes for as long as she can remember. What began as an AP art project grew into a full-blown passion, leading her to study footwear design at FIDM and spend time in Milan refining her craft. Over nearly a decade, she has designed across brands in Los Angeles and New York City, including a tenure as a footwear designer at Tory Burch.
She started Maile World with a simple idea: that a heel could be beautiful, walkable, and worth keeping forever.
Her silhouettes are playful and distinct, nodding to a time when a pair of perfect heels made the outfit. Shaped by a childhood split between Tokyo and Hawaii, and an adult life between LA and New York City, the contrast never left. Two worlds whose endless cultural difference became the aesthetic foundation Maile World is built on.
